Giving back to our communities

We continued giving back to our communities on Monday, May 22, 2023 with a check was presented to CPRF – Community Mobility Fund located in Wichita, KS.

CPRF has a long history of providing wheelchair and posture seating services and assistive technology equipment to Kansans of all ages with various disabilities. CPRF serves over 800 clients annually throughout the state with approximately 55% residing outside of Sedgwick County, creating an annual shortfall exceeding $250,000.

To address this issue, CPRF has established an endowed CPRF Community Mobility Fund (Mobility Fund) with six community foundations across the state, which are restricted to services for clients with disabilities who reside in the counties supported by each community foundation. One of the community foundations where CPRF has established a Mobility Fund is the Central Kansas Community Foundation (CKCF).  The CKCF catchment area includes Butler, Harvey, Wilson, Marion and Elk counties.

This donation will be directed towards the Mobility Fund with the CKCF. This will help CPRF clients who live in Augusta, El Dorado, and Newton areas. To learn more about CPRF visit: https://www.cprf.org/

Giving to Meals on Wheels

White Eagle presented a check to Meals on Wheels on Friday, June 14, 2019.

Meals on Wheels delivers a hot, nutritious noon meal to home-bound people age 60 + each weekday. More than just a meal the program provides a friendly, familiar face at the doors of home-bound people every day. Family members and friends are rest assured when they cannot check up on their loved ones, the Meals on Wheels volunteer will be there for them. And for the tax paying public, Meals on Wheels saves valuable financial resources. The cost to deliver Meals on Wheels to one senior for one year is $1,900. Placement in a state funded nursing facility costs the taxpayer up to $40,000 per placement. Meals on Wheels is a valuable lifeline for many people who have difficulty advocating for themselves.
