Title Specialist Job Description
The purpose of the Title Specialist is to assist the loan department in the processing and completion of loans. They will maintain a professional work environment and uphold the confidentiality of the department with integrity. Will work as a valued team member among their peers and willfully act as backup for others as necessary to ensure the success of the credit union.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Process all lien filings for both in and out of state collateral.
• Administer all UCC filings.
• Create and maintain tracking for Pending Titles, which includes tracking all registrations, titling by members and sending notices to members who have failed to register/title collateral in a timely manner.
• Complete lien releases for consumer and real estate collateral.
• Work Monthly Paid Loan Report including processing lien releases as necessary, send paid off Green C accounts to Collections, and deleting auto pay for paid loans.
• Order home appraisals and maintain a log for the Mortgage Lenders.
• Assist with phone calls directed to the loan department and finish to completion if possible or direct to the correct person.
• Record and process incoming loan payments by mail, night drop, and phone.
• Develop an understanding of the credit union history, philosophy, organization, by-laws, and operations procedures.
• Assist in any area as directed by the President and/or Lending Manager.
• Serve as a Notary Public.
Qualifications:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Professional appearance and good communication skills. Experience with large server based systems with a high attention to detail. Experience in banking or with credit unions is preferred.
