In May, WECU donated $5,000 to Numana, an international hunger relief organization with their headquarters in El Dorado, Kansas. This donation will help provide 16,666 meals to the hungry in the United States and all around the world.
In addition to the donation WECU had a team of 23 employees and family gather from each of our branches Tuesday, July 19 to package 6,276 meals. These meals will be served to homeless and low-income families in Wichita on August 6 at the Convoy of Hope event along with many other free services will be offered as well. We proudly have branches in Augusta, El Dorado and Newton. Our members, staff and their families work, live and play in these communities, so we always try to contribute to the health, success and vitality of our hometowns. One way we do this is by making monetary donations as well as our time and talents to nonprofit organizations and community groups.
